Dr. Charity Ezenwa-Onuaku

National Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Charity Ezenwa-Onuaku is a chartered economist, a public accountant, and a corporate finance executive. She delivers value-added insights to strategic planning, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of key corporate financial and operational metrics.

Charity’s academic background includes:

• Economics – Bachelor’s degree (B.SC) – Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria (2004)

• Finance – Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Strayer University, Washington,
DC, USA (2007)

• Public Accounting – Master of Science (MS) – Strayer University Washington, DC, USA

• International Business – Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) – Argosy University,
Virginia, USA (2017)

Charity also has several trainings and certifications that include Financing for Development (World Bank), Economic Measurement (National Association for Business Economics), Business Analysis, and Tax Preparation (Internal Revenue Service).

Charity has over ten (10) years of experience in corporate financial planning and analyses, budget development, grant management, and management reporting. She has worked in both for-profit and non-profit environments and has managed several government grant-funded initiatives.

Currently, she works as the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Washington, DC; a Sorority of over 100,000 memberships in the United States and across the globe, with a net asset of about $45M. In her capacity as the FP&A Manager, she manages the organization’s revenue, budget development, financial reporting & analysis, and grants. In her grant management portfolio is an initiative that dates since 1968, funded by the US Department of Education to provide free counseling and technical assistance to adults and youths interested in going to college.

Charity also founded and runs her non-profit organization – WealthyGen, Inc. through which she provides financial education and empowerment programs for women and youth in the United States and Africa. Through WealthyGen, she has established sustainable livelihood activities for many widows in Nigeria. Also, she implements and manages many grant-funded initiatives, one of which is the recent STEM scholarship award program for high school graduating seniors, funded by the Prince Georges County government. She develops, manages, and reports to the government on the progress and outcome of the projects.
