Dr (Mrs) Ifeanyi Egbunike-Chukwuma is from Onitsha, Anambra State. She is an alumnus of Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences where she earned her B.Sc and Pharm.D degree in pharmacy. She completed a clinical pharmacy residency at University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor Michigan.
Chukwuma is currently the Director of Pharmacy services, with over 30 years of experience in several clinical and ambulatory care pharmacy practices. She chairs and serves on multiple committees in local and national pharmacy professional organizations. Dr. Chukwuma is board certified in both pharmacotherapy and ambulatory care pharmacy practices, and a recipient of various awards in teaching, practice excellence and community service.
Chukwuma spent several years in academia, serving as program director, department chair, associate professor and dissertation adviser for over 75 students. She has presented over 300 papers at local, national, and international meetings and published over 100 abstracts and full length publications in a variety of clinically oriented topics and is an invited keynote speaker & panelist on various topics. Additionally, she has held leadership positions in several social clubs and local cultural organizations.
She is a co-founder of Ikporo Onitsha USA, and she serves on the board of directors of Onitsha Advancement Foundation, Arise World Ministries, Ikporo Onitsha USA Organization, and an active member of St. Bernadine’s Catholic Church, Baltimore, Maryland,
Her interests include: diversity, equity and inclusion, women and youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, health care access especially for patients with cancer, those with chronic diseases and non-communicable disease and for people with disability.
She is married to Ugonnabo Akunne Ernest Chukwuemeka Chukwuma and a proud mother of five wonderful children.
